B.E.R.T. TRAINING FUND

BERT Training Fund (BTF) provides training grants and other assistance for workers in the Queensland building and construction industry to learn new skills or develop existing qualifications and knowledge. The organisation is based in Brisbane, Queensland and is a joint union and employer initiative set up in 1991. BTF was previously known as the Queensland Construction Training Fund (QCTF).

Through BERT training grants and other forms of funding, BTF aims to increase the number of skilled workers in the construction industry and help the industry to take responsibility for the funding of its training needs. BTF offers a range of different training grants, awards and advice about training and up-skilling.

BTF provides training grants to employees and employers who are Building Employees Redundancy Trust (BERT) members within the building and construction industry in Queensland and/or the Northern Territory. BTF will provide assistance in both trade and non-trade callings and in the building, civil and engineering construction sectors of the industry.

Through skills training, workers covered by the Building Employees Redundancy Trust (BERT) can increase their skills knowledge and expertise. This leads to better employment options, higher wages and a more productive industry.

BTF provides training grants for accredited training at Registered Training Organisation’s (RTO) in Queensland. The courses below are examples only and are indicative of the types of training we fund. Other training outcomes may also be approved provided the training is relevant to your work in the construction industry. If you have any doubts about the course you are interested in getting a training grant for, please contact us OR or complete an online application and you will be advised in writing within 10-14 days whether or not funding is approved.
